“My work mainly focuses on the human figure, exploring its realistic and abstract forms. I am fascinated by the complexity and expressiveness of the human body, and through my art, I seek to capture the essence of movement, emotion, and identity. By blending realism with abstraction, I aim to push the boundaries of traditional representation, allowing viewers to engage with the figure on multiple levels—intellectually, emotionally, and visually. This dual approach lets me explore the space between what is seen and what is felt, creating a dialogue between the known and the imagined.”
Joy George attended the University of Houston for Architecture and then Fine Arts, completing a BFA. She studied at MassArt in Boston for her MFA in Figurative Painting and was accepted to the Newhouse School at Syracuse University, where she studied Communications Design. Along with attending workshops with many other Cape Cod Artists, she has taken regular classes for the past year and studied extensively with artist Martin Campos of Philadelphia.

My work has been featured in exhibits presented by the National Oil and Acrylic Painters’ Society, American Women Artists, the Cape Cod Museum of Art, the Cape Cod Art Center, the Commons in Provincetown, the Brewster Ladies Library, and the Art Gallery of the Guild of Harwich Artists.
