Orchestra Concert - Once Upon a Symphony

The Falmouth Chamber Players Orchestra is pleased to present this special fall concert featuring music that takes you on an adventure. There will be 2 performances – a Saturday evening show and a Sunday afternoon Family Concert.

Saturday October 24th – 7:00pm

Morse Pond School Auditorium, Falmouth

Offenbach – Overture to Orpheus in the Underworld
Humperdinck – Suite from Hansel and Gretel
Borodin – Symphony No. 1

There’s something in the concert for everyone! The Suite from Hansel and Gretel includes several scenes:
Strawberry Picking In the Forest
Witch’s Ride
Sandman’s Song
Evening Prayer
Fourteen Angels Guard the Children

Saturday evening we will present the three works in their entirety.

Sunday we’ll be performing a Family Concert. We’ll provide slightly shorter versions of the Offenbach and Humperdinck, with introductions to the instrument families from the stage. We’ll also have activity packets available in the lobby before the show, and a chance to meet some of the musicians at intermission. For the second half of the performance, we will perform the symphony by Alexander Borodin which is just over 30 minutes.
